Giving the Gift of Warmth: All Temp Co Inc Annual Holiday Furnace Giveaway
At All Temp Co Inc, giving back to our community is not just something we talk about. It is something we make a priority every single year.
Each holiday season, we give away a free heating system to a family in need. As temperatures drop, no one should have to choose between staying warm and having a safe place to stay. This year, we wanted to make sure our giveaway reached someone who truly needed it most.
To do that, we personally reached out to Rowan County United Way and asked if they knew of a family who could benefit from being nominated. Shortly after, we heard from Ali Edwards, the Community Outreach Coordinator with Rowan United Way.
Ali contacted us about a family that immediately touched our hearts.
She shared that Dana Shorter, a mother of two, had just lost heat in her home. With no working furnace and cold weather setting in, the family was facing the possibility of having to go to a shelter simply to stay warm.
We took this situation very seriously.
Our team stayed in close contact with Ali to gather the necessary information and ensure the family qualified for our annual giveaway. After careful consideration, Dana Shorter was selected as this year’s recipient.
When we first reached out, Dana was understandably skeptical. It can be hard to believe that someone would step in to help in such a big way. After talking through the process, she allowed us to visit her home to inspect the system and confirm it qualified.
What we found only reinforced our decision.
We are incredibly grateful that we were able to gift Dana and her children a fully functioning furnace just in time for Thanksgiving. Knowing that this family could remain safely in their home and enjoy the holiday season in warmth is something we will never take for granted.
We could not think of a more deserving family to receive this year’s holiday giveaway.
